Welcome to Brendon Leitch Racing
The official site for New Zealand driver, Brendon Leitch.
Brendon Leitch is one of New Zealand’s top racing talents working his way onto the international stage.
Born and raised in Invercargill, Leitch comes for a rich family background of racing. Both his parents Barry and Marguerite raced and those skills were passed down to Brendon and brother, Damon.
Brendon found success at an early age racing karts when he was six before moving into Formula Ford as a teenager. He then made a spirited move to the Castrol Toyota Racing Series at the tender age of 16 where he raced alongside his brother.
With a passion for single seaters, his focus year after year was on the five-week summer series. Backed by longtime supporters Dayle ITM, Leitch contested six seasons of the Formula 1 proving ground where he won in almost every season.
In that time he raced against and beat some of the world’s best up-and-comers including Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris, Lance Stroll as well as Formula 2 and Formula 3 talent like Pedro Piquet, Jehan Daruvala, Artem Markelov and fellow countrymen Liam Lawson and Marcus Armstrong.
A sideways step into Formula 4 in the United States saw Leitch take on his first big international challenge. He won in his single season and finished fourth overall. Opportunities in sports cars came knocking too with a season in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in the respective endurance series in the North Island and South Island at home.
In everything he’s ever raced, Brendon has found success. His biggest move to date sees him campaigning a Huracán in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia as well as a drive in the Formula 3 Asian Championship with BlackArts Racing in 2019.
Long term Brendon wants to establish himself as one of New Zealand’s top sports car racers in the world with hopes of winning the biggest endurance races around the globe.
